We offer same day display replacement on iPhone 6s and newer devices. We carry a limited stock of all supported models. If you bring in a broken iPhone with a cracked or shattered screen and inventory is available, display replacements will be handled within 2 hours from the time you drop the phone off. If inventory is not available we will order the display and will typically have the part available next day. If your phone is an iPhone 6 or older, your device must be mailed to Apple for repair. If your iPhone has been damaged accidentally, or needs other repairs, we may not be able to replace the display alone and it may require additional parts or whole unit replacement to be ordered.
Apple’s one year limited warranty for iPhone covers your iPhone and Apple accessories against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the original date of purchase. It doesn’t cover accidental, cosmetic, or liquid damage or damage due to unauthorized modifications.
If you have an AppleCare+ policy on your iPhone you are eligible for accidental damage coverage for your device for up to two incidence at a fee of $99 per incident (or $29 for display only service).
If your iPhone or the required service isn’t covered by Apple’s one year limited warranty, AppleCare+, or AppleCare Protection Plan, you may still be able to get out-of-warranty service. For example, an iPhone damaged by liquids may be eligible for out-of-warranty service. Apple reserves the right to determine whether your device is eligible.
When you bring your iPhone to Paul Bunyan Communications we will perform diagnostics on the spot, provided there is an available Apple Technician. We might be able to fix the issue the same day, however, it could take up to one week if we need to send your iPhone to the Apple Repair Depot.
Apple’s service fees depend on your iPhone model and coverage under limited warranty, or AppleCare:
If we examine your iPhone and determine that the issues are software related we can perform a system restore free of charge, but if issues are related to apps, training, or involve a lot of troubleshooting there may be time billed at our hourly rate of $85/hour for non-members and $65/hour for Paul Bunyan members.
During the service process your iPhone may be erased. If you do not have a backup of your data, we recommend you back up your phone to iTunes (on a computer) or iCloud prior to bringing in for service.
Not all repairs are eligible for same unit repair. We will diagnose the issue and determine if repair can be performed on your phone at our location. If your phone is eligible for same unit repair we will order and replace the defective part. If the phone is not eligible for same unit repair, we will send the phone to Apple and they will either repair your iPhone or replace it. Any replacement will be new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. During repair Apple may discover additional issues we were not aware of on the device requiring additional components to be replaced. If additional charges apply, you will be called for a re-quote on the repair and can either accept or decline the service on the device.
If you bring your iPhone to Paul Bunyan Communications for repair and we need to send it to the Apple Repair Depot, we might offer you a loaner iPhone. To get a loaner, your iPhone or the issue must be covered under warranty or AppleCare+. You’ll get your iPhone back from our Apple Repair Center in approximately one week or less. You will return the loaner when you pick up your repaired iPhone.
Batteries are consumable parts that can fail because of a defect or because they wear out through normal use. If your iPhone fails because of a defect in the battery and it’s covered by Apple’s one year limited warranty, AppleCare+, or AppleCare Protection Plan, we’ll either replace your battery or your iPhone. If your iPhone has been damaged accidentally or needs other repairs, we may not be able to replace the battery alone. Most battery repair service can be performed at Paul Bunyan Communications same day, however some devices require a part or whole unit replacement to be ordered.
If your iPhone has a SIM card, remove it and keep it along with your accessories and adapters—don’t drop them off with your iPhone.
After you receive your replacement or repaired iPhone, transfer your SIM card back to the iPhone and turn it on. You can set it up as you would a new iPhone or restore your content from backup.
