Solar Interference Can Cause Afternoon PBTV Service Interruptions Through October 15

Service interruption of some individual channels may occur for approximately 10 minutes during the late afternoon hours now through October 15 due to solar interference.

During the interference, reception may range from minor sparkles to loss of reception or picture freezing.

Solar interference occurs each calendar year in both the spring and the fall.

What channels are affected and when will vary over the next 10-15 days.

ACC Network Added to PBTV Extra

The new Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Network has been added to Paul Bunyan Television service. The ACC Network was launched August 22.

ACC Network is available to all PBTV Extra subscribers and can be found on channel 79 and in HD on channel 579 for PBTV Extra subscribers who also have PBTV HD service.   If they network does not appear in your guide, reset your set top box and it should appear.

ACC Network will offer live ACC sports and related programming. Approximately 450 live televised events, including 40 regular-season football games, 150 men’s and women’s basketball games, and 200 other regular-season competitions and tournament games from across the conference’s 27 sponsored sports will be televised annually, plus a complement of news and information shows and original programming.

Member schools of the ACC include Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

“We’re excited to give our subscribers the opportunity to receive the ACC Network as part of their Paul Bunyan Television service.  We offer a wide variety of sports programming and the ACC will provide access to even more live college sports for our customers.” said Brian Bissonette, Paul Bunyan Communications Marketing Supervisor.

2019 GigaZone Gaming Championship is this Saturday, November 2!

The first and only stadium style eSports event in the region, the GigaZone Gaming Championship, returns to the Sanford Center Ballroom in Bemidji Saturday, November 2.

All the fun is FREE!  FREE to game and participate in any of the gaming tournaments

The only money you’ll need is for food/beverages or GigaZone Gaming merchandise which will be available all day

Doors Open at 10 a.m. and it will conclude between 7-8 with the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate GigaZone Gaming Championship match on main stage

Free Preview of NFL RedZone for all PBTV subscribers through September 15

Paul Bunyan Communications is providing all PBTV subscribers a free preview of the NFL RedZone the first two weeks of the regular season, September 8 and 15.

NFL RedZone is available on PBTV channel 77 or in HD on channel 577.

NFL RedZone whips around every NFL game during the regular season on Sunday afternoons, delivering all the touchdowns and exciting moments LIVE. When a team goes inside the 20 on their way to the end zone, you will see the crucial plays as they happen.  NFL RedZone, puts viewers first and goal.

After the free preview, PBTV subscribers can continue to receive NFL RedZone by subscribing to both the PBTV Sports and PBTV Extra package.

14th Annual BSU Community Appreciation Day 4:30-6 pm Thursday, August 29

Bemidji State University will hold its 14th Annual Community Appreciation Day Thursday, August 29. The free event is Bemidji State’s “thank you” to the residents, business owners and friends in Beaver Nation for all they do to support the university.

The free, public event will run from 4:30-6 p.m. on the 19th Street lawn between Tamarack Hall and the Gillett center.

Paul Bunyan Communications is a major sponsor of the event, which will include “A Taste of BSU,” featuring free food samples from local restaurants and organizations along with live music.

There will also be “Meet the Beavers” stations where kids can meet student-athletes from BSU’s intercollegiate varsity sports. The players will be leading a number of interactive games and Bucky the Beaver will be available for pictures.

In addition, dozens of booths from various campus departments/activities and local businesses and organizations, along with a variety of games and activities for children will be available throughout the evening.
