What to do before bringing your device in for repair

  1. Backup your data – For privacy reasons, Apple will wipe any device sent to them. We cannot take a backup for you, however, Apple iCloud backup services are available for most devices. In the case of hard drive failure, we can potentially perform data recovery on the failing drive, but we recommend you provide a portable hard drive (or jump drive) to back your data up to.
  2. Disable Find my iPhone (iPad/iPod) – If we need to send your device to Apple, or replace it, we will need this feature disabled.
  3. Remember your Apple ID and password – For many processes, we will require that you enter your Apple ID or password on the device. Make sure you have this information on hand when you come in.
  4. Remember your device passcode – We will need your device passcode to perform our diagnostics and repair processes.
  5. If you are having an issue with cellular service on an iPad or iPhone, check with your carrier and try a new SIM card before coming in for service.
  6. Although we do not require you to make an appointment for check-in, Apple offers an Appointment Scheduler to make sure technicians are available to help when you arrive. Setting an appointment does not guarantee part availability, or immediate repair of your device upon arrival. An appointment is only to provide a 20 minute window for you to check your device into our system and ask any questions you have on the repair.  Appointment Scheduler can be accessed from https://getsupport.apple.com/
